Ann-Christin W. Ingels

Soprano

The Swedish soprano Ann-Christin Wesser Ingels specializes in both early and recent music. She got her diploma at Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, where she studied under Emma Kirkby and Jessica Cash, among others. After three more years of studying early opera and baroque interpretation in Sweden and Germany, Ann-Christin began her carrier as a soloist and ensemble-singer.

The scenic expression when performing chamber music is her speciality. Her great understanding of, and interest in, the performance of early music, namely Italian madrigals, makes her one of the best ensemble singers and baroque soloists in Scandinavia.

Besides her soloist work at concerts and oratorios, Ann-Christin sings as core member in Ars Nova Copenhagen. In 2014, she excelled in the role as Leonora d’Este in the opera ‘Gesualdo Shadows’ by Bo Holten at the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen.
